  • travel_vic · hangers on. Horses through means of randomness that hang on to the underside of race results. If these were standardbreds one would say that they were dragged to a faster time than they would have been able to produce on thier own. · 170 days ago ·

  • travel_vic · Like I explained before, when reviewing a race, I look at peformances and never look at a horse's name, the rider or the trainer. so I just bet the competitive performance and do not give a hoot which horse has that or not. · 170 days ago ·

  • ruffian75 · In 1997, I went to Saratoga, to see the Travers Stakes. Four days prior to the Travers, Chris McCarron's mom had died. Her loss caused him uncertainty as to whether or ride, or not. His family urged him on, to ride for mom. He rode Deputy Commander to victory, to an emotional Winner's Circle. The next day, I was on a flight to Chicago, to catch my plane out of Chicago. Chirs was on the plane, flying to Chicago for the Arlington Million. I wanted to say something to him, but in his moment of mourning, I said nothing. But, in my heart, I felt his anguish. I was very inspired by his presence, and, I only wished him, and his family, the best. For what I couldn't tell you, I would like to say, that you were a great jockey, and an inspiration to all. · 701 days ago ·

  • BrianZipse · I have always liked this one ... With the Triple Crown crew, shall we say struggling just a bit, it might be a new star of the division who takes over in the summer and fall. Coil is a very interesting candidate to do just that. · 713 days ago ·
