  • dani.pugh · He has two very good shots in a top three year old and older male. I'd take those shots too. He also has a horse that was a group one turf winner, at this distance, who can apparently run on dirt, so again, why not give him the shot? Baffert I think overenters sometimes. Entering some that don't really have a legit shot. Pletcher's three all have good reasons as to why they are in this race. · 204 days ago ·

  • AndyScoggin · Wise Dan and Princess seem like locks with Palace Malice one Travers away to become a lock. · 247 days ago ·
  • rafirox · Matt Shifman, thanks for writing this. I think you got 3 out of the 5 correct. Princess of Sylmar and Wise Dan are practically locks, and Palace Malice is my pick for the 3yo champ. · 246 days ago ·

Despite a tumultuous leadup to the race itself, Successful Dan ran his eyeballs out as the stable second-string. A far from perfect trip proceeded a fast finishing second place in one of the best races in the nation this year. Now maybe Morton Fink and Wise Dan can win the Fourstardave with some pea...Read More

  • james.farrell.3760 · I'm glad Wise Dan didn't run in The Whitney, now I get to see the reigning Horse of the Year run in person this saturday up at Saratoga in the Fourstardave Handicap. · 254 days ago ·
  • myjumper21 · Exactly!what is wrong with you people????... leave the horse alone!!!!!!!! he needs to stay on what he's used to and knows and has consistency on. If anything try him over long distance turf please! not dirt! he hasn't ran in dirt in a whole year, plus he has only been on dirt a few times. If they wanted him to be on dirt they should have got him on dirt a loonnngg time ago.. but of course I'm happy they didn't, he's a fantastic turf horse · 254 days ago ·

  • Mike in SB · Fort Larned has got to get over his gate problems. When he breaks on top, like the Stephen Foster and Breeders Cup, he can beat anyone, but if he doesn't, like the Oaklawn Handicap and Whitney, he is in trouble. Ian Wilkes is a good horseman and I hope Fort Larned will be ready for the Breeders Cup. · 257 days ago ·

I would like to see MMM win this. Csaba will outrun his odds and has a decent chance to hit the board.

Anyone have a shot to beat Fort Larned? Csaba's odds make him attractive

  • tmallios1 · throw out the stephen foster as a race to gauge these horses.the night fort larned won,he got to the front on a super speed biased track.he was tracked by take charge indy (who never fired ) any closer in the race had no shot to get near the winner on that track.if you want proof of that nights bias, just refer to the race royal delta ran in. rosario sent the casse filly to the front, she looked like a world beater that day.as far as the pace, drawing the rail . i would be surprised if the instructions to leparoux are not to send. but all pace scenerios are irrelevent.they are predicated on one thing.what do todd and johnny v. want to do.if they want the lead,it is theirs for the taking. if todd wants cross traffic to sit off of the pace setter.the pace will be pedestrian.that will leave cross traffic as the fastest horse who has the ability to sprint home.the horse is bred up and down to go long.i think todd and johnny v. are chomping at the bit for saturdays race. i think it is theirs for the taking. The threat in my opinion will come from Ron The Greek.mott looks as though he has him tuned to fire big.billy always points to the spa. · 260 days ago ·
  • EP Taylor · Fast Falcon reminds me of Al Khali, always running on late to grab a piece, but never has the luck to get out front prior to the wire. I still think Big Mucho, could always show up with a huge race in him. His inconsitencies make it more difficult to know when the big colt will fire his A game. Aside from that it is all about beating Fort Larned. We know this horse won't quit on the lead, so you will be required to make a long sustained run , and I am not sure who has that ability in this field and go past FL. Mucho needs to lay close again and hope he has the wheels to get past the champ. · 260 days ago ·
LOVING the lineup so far for this race. i hope Wise Dan does go. i'd love to see what he can do.

  • kaitlinefree1 · hes starting to slow down, it seems like he doesn't want to race, i hope they retire him after this race, or at the end of the year. i'm sure they'll drag him to the Classic. · 261 days ago ·
  • illhaveanothertriplecrown · I have trouble picking against Fort Larned after what he's done to me the last few races I picked against him. I like him, dan and csaba in no particular order at the top of my list for this race · 260 days ago ·
