Excellent move by Bravo to get Black Onyx involved in the early pace, that won the race as few horses were closing well today. I didn't see the race unfolding this way, unfortunately. Black Onyx doesn't appear to favor dirt.

  • Floridaf · Black Onyx has surface versatility to his credit. He really has done nothing wrong. · 1216 days ago
does anyone know what time it is at?
I like Balance The Books to run 'em down in the stretch. Uncaptured looks like he'll be ready to make a good showing in his 2013 debut as well. Maybe Channel as my longshot.
1) My Name is Michael 2) Uncaptured 3) Capo Bastone
Taken by the storm wins in hand going away ......nice easy trip!!
Fear The Kitten runs them down late!
Beware Giant Finish. dont count him out
1st- Balance The Books, 2nd- Uncaptured, 3rd- Capo Bastone, 4th- General Election.
I will only watch this race but might bet if I can get Mac The Man, General Election or Balance the books at a good price.
With all these horse wanting in the Spiral, there's a good chance that the highly regarded Crop Report will not get in.

Take the best run in a late March or April prep race and bet the crap out of the winner or second horse that has the best closing kick....derby strategies....
Well this race is going to be a good one as well.
Wow...great lineup for the Spiral this year if they all go! I gotta say I like Balance the Books, bc I loved his daddy and made a bunch on him.

  • shackleford · Uncaptured and Delhomme are the only two in my top five left unblemished so far this year (because they have yet to race). I'm willing to give Cerro another chance. Balance The Books and Rydilluc are interesting, too. · 1228 days ago
Yeah if this ends up being the field I have no clue to pick lol

i hope they dont run RYDDLUC in the SPIRAL he is probably the best 3 year old turf horse in the country. i gave him out last week and he aired againsta nice field at gulfstream. facing the likes of uncaptured, frac daddy, mac the man and cerro doent make any sense. these owners get DERBY FEVER and run thhem in the wrong spots. i could find a graded stake on TURF that would be more to his liking. GOOD LUCK I STILL LOVE HIM
