What the Nation is saying about the 2013 Smarty Jones (LS)...

Can a horse who floundered through each leg of the Triple Crown, possibly end the year as the Three-year-old Male Champion? In the case of Will Take Charge, the answer is yes.Read More

  • ruffianlover · It's not that he is not getting any love. It's just that he is throwing away his chance to win 3yo honors (well not him but his owners). I just gave him some love! haha I said he has a good chance to hit the board in the Classic ( I don't think he will win but I wouldn't be surprised if he got third). I see him doing better than Orb honestly. But I just think him not running in the JCGC gives Orb and PM a much better advantage over him should they win, place or show · 211 days ago ·

  • CauseForConcern · Brian, when you say Thunder Gulch was his best Derby horse, it sure would've been nice to have a piece of that 25-1 best horse. Timber Country, I think, was his, and was the favorite of the Derby? Also, I don't believe any other trainer has had the distinction of running 1st AND 3rd, three times in Derby(Thunder Gulch & Timber Country; Grindstone & Prince Of Thieves; Charismatic & Cat Thief). · 396 days ago ·

The connections of Brown Almighty have been planning their colt’s dirt debut for months now and on Monday their wait will be over when the colt makes his much anticipated start in the $150,000 Smarty Jones, the first in a series of 3-year-olds races leading toward the April 13 Arkansas Derby and the...Read More
His Daddy was great on Turf too, but wow could Big Brown accelerate on the dirt. Brown almighty already is looking so much bigger and stronger then just a few months ago. I can't wait to see if dirt is the answer for this horse.
He better stick to turf

  • Mary Z. · Just go to a horse's, trainer's, race's page by entering the name in that box in the upper right of this main page. Some horses are a pain to find because there were either other horses with the same name or their name has a beginning common to many others, so in that case use the dam to find them by clicking on her progeny. Okay, so once at the desired page, just start a thread by entering your fantastically interesting thread opener where it says, "What do you think?" Don't actually type everything you think, but maybe be concise and welcoming to further comment :) · 485 days ago ·
