  • jasen.mangrum · It was nice to see Goldencents slightly rate off the pace, but it looked like he had trouble putting those 4th tier horses away at 1 mile. · 162 days ago ·

  • equineplay · Whats not to like. He has won 3 out of 4 on 4 different tracks. Beyer average of 93. Only loss has been to SB in his second race after being shipped from LA to NY. I 've watched his run outs and he refuses to get passed. He has the intangibles most do not. If the Sham was 1 1/16 he could have won more impressively. · 162 days ago ·

The first test in 2013 for 3-years-olds who may have Derby aspirations where they can earn valuable points for entry into the Derby is at Santa Anita Park in the Grade 3 Sham Stakes. It's ashamed that this small (6 horse) field carries more weight for the Kentucky Derby than the more competitive (10...Read More

It’s Goldencents against the field in Saturday’s Grade III Sham Stakes at one mile for 3-year-olds, but that doesn’t deter Tyler Baze from being optimistic about Dirty Swagg’s chances in the first local steppingstone to the Grade I, $750,000 Santa Anita Derby on April 6. Read More
In Saturday’s third race at Santa Anita, one of America’s top Kentucky Derby prospects, Goldencents will be favored to take his speed wire-to-wire in the Grade 3 Sham Stakes. • rafirox · IMO, Alydar is by far the best ever to lose all three. Sham was an awesome horse. But, I think Alydar was even better. Total of two lengths off of Affirmed. He was always with him. Red really was too good for Sham, but Alydar was good enough to beat Affirmed, just barely couldn't do it. · 165 days ago ·
