Intello, Dawn Approach, & Moonlight Cloud are all 5-2 joint co-favorites on the morning line for the G1 Prix Jacques Le Marois, though I suspect you'll be lucky to get 2-1 on Intello or Dawn Approach by post time, and I think Moonlight Cloud will be the drifter of the 3, likely to be about 3 to 4-1 by post time. If you're looking for each way value in the race, I think Elusive Kate jumps out at 10-1 given the quality of her form in the past at Deauville. I also think Aljamaaheer at 18-1 is overpriced and is certainly capable of running into a place in this race if everything goes right for him. He's one of the most progressive horses in the field right now, he had a strong G2 win in the Summer Mile at Ascot last time out, and he's got quality G1 form already this season in the Lockinge Stakes & Queen Anne Stakes. My race super-fecta: 1st-Intello 2nd-Elusive Kate 3rd-Dawn Approach 4th-Aljamaaheer. *Note*: Under normal circumstances I would make this race to be between Intello & Dawn Approach, but the quick turnaround from his recent 2nd in the G1 Sussex Stakes concerns me a little for Dawn Approach.

  • jonquil · Looks like Moonlight Cloud won, just defeating Olympic Glory (I think it was?). Which leads me to ask -- why hasn't Olympic Glory been more prominent this year? I don't know much about him. · 347 days ago

I was just reading an article on www.thoroughbrednews.au a few minutes ago about this race where it said with the Prix Jacques Le Marois being one of the "win and your in" challenge races for the Breeders Cup Mile, it the winner of this race declares for the Breeders Cup Mile by October 21th they get their $40,000 entry fees paid a long with the $40,000 travel allowance that all overseas horses traveling to the Breeders Cup will start receiving effective this year.
I'm certainly not trying to burst the bubbles of all the Toronado fans by announcing this, I'm just passing on info I read today on-line. I was reading an article, on France Gallops.com if memory serves, about the upcoming G1 Prix Jacques Le Marois on Sunday, and in the article trainer Richard Hannon said that Toronado is unlikely to go to Deauville for the race, sighting the timing of the Prix Jacques Le Marois coming too soon on the back of Toronado's win in the G1 Sussex Stakes. Hannon said he'll likely send recent G1 Prix Jean-Prat winner, Havana Gold, instead, and possibly Olympic Glory also, though his form has taken a big drop of late.

  • ILuvTurfRacing · @Northport, thanks for posting that about Farhh. I wasn't even aware he had sustained another injury post-Lockinge? I wondered why Godolphin wouldn't have considered him for this race instead of Dawn Approach with him being the fresher horse? I thought maybe they were just eyeing a 10f campaign with him in the autumn in races like the Juddmonte International, Irish Champion Stakes, etc....Wasn't even aware of the injury. · 351 days ago
  • Northport · Here is a very brief release about it, it was during his Ascot prep - http://www.godolphin.com/news/latest-news/article/7079/farhh-misses-royal-ascot · 351 days ago
