  • travel_vic · Forty Niner would have had a say that next year had it not been for the most incompetent ride I have, in all seriousness, EVERy witness when Julie Krone took the almost need to lead Forty Niner off the pace and down by the rail (WHERE no horse save Gulch had moved up all day.) we will never know, but I'll bet several dozen other riders would have not put in such an incompetent move. · 27 days ago ·

If not for a race seven days earlier, Emollient would have been considered one of the most promising three-year-old fillies in the nation, and a big favorite in yesterday’s feature at Keeneland. What a difference a week makes. Rebounding from a 30 length drubbing at the hands of a spectacular perfor...Read More

  • darlene · I,personally, like that a filly would have to face males prior to Derby to get in As stated the fillies that have won Derby had faced males before the win I don't think this was a mistake or oversight by CD · 49 days ago ·

  • rafirox · Emollient, believe it or not, *is* the #1 filly on my Oaks Dozen. But, once I studied this race on paper I just got shifted into a different direction. Live Lively just has ran superb at Gulfstream and (if I may add this quote from a friend) "Her attitude towards working in the morning and racing have improved notably ever since the change in tatics. Usually speed develops sooner rather than later, it took this one a while to utilize it, but her speed is a force to reckon with." I see Live Lively smoking to the front, and just get little competition. I see her smoking Original Script, and Original Script's synthetic form you have no idea how it will translate to dirt. She is by El Prado, so maybe she'll never go with Live Lively. Either way, Dreaming of Julia, in my opinion, doesn't have the correct style for this race. She's not speedy enough to keep up with Live Lively. I love Live Lively's pedigree and her performance is suggesting 1 1/8 mile should not be difficult. I see Emollient as a very logical choice, but I question her pace parameters. She hasn't faced what the other two contenders have. · 54 days ago ·

  • Floridaf · The thing about DOJ, though, was that she had and used speed in her first three races. But then for some inexplicable reason, she went from being on or very close to the lead to running about 3 lengths back. When that started, she started losing. I don't know if it is truly a lack of speed or just a change in tactics. I really do adore Live Lively. I want her to win, but I just have this feeling about Emollient. · 54 days ago ·
