Older Comments about the 2013 Epsom Derby (G1)...

People complain all the time about USA being the inbreeding capital ... but 5 of these horses alone (almost half) are from Galileo. I know Galileo is a kick A, fanstic sire .. but it is hard to find a non Galileo/Sadlers Wells lined horse in most of europe. More proof - Montjeu=Sadler's wells. New Approach-Galileo , which means that only two of the horses in this line up are not of the same (direct/with in 2 gens) lineage. This is only one race mind you, but a pretty classic example.

  • yukichan · You could extend that train of thought to Japan and Deep Impact/Sunday Silence, or in Australia with High Chaparral/Sadler's Wells or the Danehill influence (Fasnet Rock, Exceed and Excel, Redoute's Choice--that's just in AUS!) Danehill was an incredible sire or sires as well as broodmare sire. · 791 days ago
