with a group 1 win Igugu can get back to winning ways
The British Champion Filly & Mare Stakes has been upgraded from G2 status to G1 and will run as a G1 race for the first time on October 19th during British Champion's Day.
  • ILuvTurfRacing · Hopefully, the committee will follow suit soon with an upgrade from G3 to G2 for the BC Long Distance Cup? A lot of top stayers that have ran in the Ascot Gold Cup and other top stayers races during the season point for the BC Long Distance Cup now, and given it's setting is on such a big stage as part of the Champions Day card, you'd think it carries as nearly as much prestige now as some of the top G2 stayers races during the season like the Yorkshore Cup, Lonsdale Cup, & Doncaster Cup. · 1023 days ago
  • EP Taylor · Amazing that the staying races are not g1 aside from the Ascot Gold Cup. Isn't the Goodwood cup only a G2 also. For a race that has been artound for 200 years it is shocking that it is not G1 status. · 1022 days ago
