It's quite conceivable that Eagles band members, Glenn Frey and Don Henley, could have easily written about the Kentucky Derby as opposed to relationships, when the songwriting duo penned the line "Who can go the distance, we'll find out," in their song titled, "The Long Run." The question is posed ...Read More

  • ismalli · You are correct on how, at a minimum, Dosage lets us know who has the DNA for Derby-Contention; yet, you underplay Post Position, especially with regard to who's inside your horse. Q:Why? · 23 days ago ·

  • Trackside · Ismali--I feel post position in the Derby is overrated...it is a long run to the first turn, and there is planty of time for riders to establish position. However, Post position at times, can be detrimental to some types of running styles, as a handicappers we have to evaluate if a certain post may or may not affect a horse. · 23 days ago ·

  • CauseForConcern · Looks like 20 could be enough points now. With all these defections, wouldn't it be ironic if they couldn't fill the 20-horse field? And, with Departing, Winning Cause, and Governor Charlie(among others) now aiming at the Preakness Stakes, it seems strange that the Preakness could be as competitive as the Derby? We have a little over 120 hours til the Derby, but, is there some doubt as to the significance of the point system now? · 23 days ago ·

  • mark kennedy · hmm mike were we watching the same two races? I think Palice Malice has a huge chance to hit the board in the Derby To come back in 2 short weeks after a horrible trip getting blocked in the la derby and finish 2nd by less than a length shows some true talent Hes only raced 5 times wont be 3 until may Other than the derby Has hit the board in all of his other starts hes bred to go long The horse can be placed anywhere on the track I like him I also like the way way overanaylze ran great closing kick. So what the times wernt the fastest there havent been many fast races won this year anyway Who wants to peak the race before the derby? · 29 days ago ·

  • ismalli · None at HRN seem bothered Overanalyze - Has never won two consecutive starts.Arkansas Derby, the 1:51 4/5 seconds that Overanalyze ran that 1 1/8-mile in the slowest winning time since 1978, and Orb, who some consider the probable second choice behind Verrazano, ran the third-slowest Florida Derby in the last 20 years. · 37 days ago ·

  • geldedridgling · Unless a horse is in first at all calls final race time is very overrated. In this case, Overanalyze can't control how weak or strong the pace horses are, and is content to site behind a soft pace until time to draw off and, as Bejarano said, save some for the next race. · 36 days ago ·

1. War Academy 2. Oxbow 3. Den's Legacy 4. Texas Bling
Bob Baffert will take he top 2 spots and War Academy will have a Bodemeister like performance.

do not overlook overanalyze in the ark. derby. he is coming out of a buried race.the track on gotham day favored inside speed horses trmendously.he was 4 wide the first turn and 3 wide the 2nd turn. he ran against the bias the entire race.the only horse to win going wide was vyjack.go back and see coma to the tops race.as gallant and brave as he was that day.he was passed by 2 horses and came back on the rail.overanalyze was making his 1rst start of the year.he needed the race.he is set up perfectly foer a big run.compare him to a horse he beat in the remsen.everyone gave up on him after his first start of the year.an excuse race at FG.he sure came back to stamp himself as a serious player.so serious that javy jumped off almost everybodys #1 or #2 derby pick.he is coming in under the raidar. just like N.I. he will be super cranked for this race.so unless he lost his touch, when todd cranks them and they need it.he usually winds up on top.i think todd has been pointing for this race.he got his 6 weeks to get him fit.like i said,do not ignore this horse.
