What the Nation is saying about the 2012 Sussex Stakes (G1)...

After Frankel rolled by Cirrus Des Aigles in the grade one Champion Stakes, extending his record to an unbeaten 14 for 14, there was only one thought in my mind… I had just witnessed the greatest horse to ever race of all time.Read More

  • DeadHeat · He is a monster of a racehorse. I don't think he'll have any probelm with 10f since he has learned to relax. His ability is well above any other horse currently racing. I only wish that SYT was still around, so that we could have seen them match up. · 622 days ago ·

THE wait to see Usain Bolt at London 2012 continues but an even quicker athlete will hit the track at Glorious Goodwood on Wednesday when the fearsome Frankel returns to action. Bolt may be odds-on favourite for the 100 metres gold medal but he is a massive price to win compared to Frankel who is as...Read More

FRANKEL again showed just why he is the best racehorse in the world with another dominating, dismissive, destructive performance to make it 12 wins from 12 in the Sussex Stakes. Read More

  • travel_vic · No, if it were Frankel he would watch all the other races INSIDE. I was at two match races Frankel set up. First he challenged the best (at that time) sprinter at 2 furlongs versus a q-horse named Chirawiri. The latter was on top by 3 out of the gate and never loked back. Then about three months later he brought a good t-bred to Los Alamitos to race their best 870 yd runner in a match and he beat them too. Don't be with this guy was the lesson learned! · 625 days ago ·

Only 3 other horses stayed in the G1 Sussex Stakes field to take on Frankel on Wednesday, and 1 of them is his own pacemaker, Bullet Train. This year's Sussex Stakes will be little more than a glorified workout for Frankel, IMO. I know the Godolphin horse, Farhh, is a very lightly raced colt with a lot of upside. But I don't get why Saeed Bin Suroor is thinking dropping him back in trip to 8f to go against Frankel will be a positive for Farhh? He's obviously a very good horse in his own right over 10f. One that just had the misfortune of running into 2 top caliber horses in So You Think in the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes and Nathaniel in the G1 Coral-Eclipse Stakes. Sending him out to likely get run off of his feet over a mile against Frankel could easily destroy whatever confidence Farhh has going for him for those 2 top class, G1 efforts at 10f. JMO.

  • footlick · A 7 furlong match race was also proposed. BC's people said no even before the idea could be firmed up. They wanted nothing to do with Frankel. It is lunacy for Frankel to have to drop to 5 or 6 furlongs to run against her. That is what they were looking for, I'm sure. · 626 days ago ·
