poor Liaison!
GROOVIN' SOLO finished third, was disqualified and placed last for interference in midstretch. LIAISON clipped heels and lost the rider passing the eighth pole.
Baffert looks like he has solid contenders in the race...any thoughts on longshot Groovin' Solo and Empire Way.

  • ghelguera · Talent wise this is one of the best Lewis Stakes in a long time, can't wait! · 1212 days ago
  • broxtone · Empire way IMO should be used in 3rd or 4th in this race If you play tris or supers. If you have a strong pick for 1st dont leave him out of 2nd.I myself dont see him winning this one, improving that much in the last 49 days.IMO if you play Empire Way to win you need a fast CONTESTED pace for him to run at. · 1212 days ago
yes he does why are they running against each other
why would Baffert run two of his best derby prospects against each other so early on the derby trail?
BTW I heard it written that the 3rd thru 5 finishers are also rans and that only the top two should be given credit for their run in that race,I disagree entirely do you know how long a horses stride covers,IMO less than 3 lengths is not that much.
There is one big difference in the meeting of 4 out of the top 5 runners in the Cash Call racing against one another again.A lot of modern day handicappers overlook this factor because of speed figures does anyone want to answer this question?
I should have wrote same top five of the Cash Call minus Brother Francis
Both were in the Cash Call and are returning against the same field minus Brother Francis,so if you play exotics might be a good idea to include those two
This is the best prep race thus far any one disagree and believe another one was better or will be better of the ones that will be run this weekend
  • BrianZipse · With Liaison, Rousing Sermon, and Sky Kingdom in there ... I would agree. · 1213 days ago
  • Floridaf · I will have to agree, too. The Sam F. Davis is being run at TBD this weekend, but most of the big name nominations just raced this past weekend. · 1213 days ago
what happened to Brother Francis wasnt he gonna run in this race
  • Floridaf · Due to spiking a temperature, he was scratched from a 1 mile MSW on Jan. 14. He has not posted a work since Jan. 6, so I would venture to say that he is likely out of this race. · 1214 days ago
I think this is going to be one of the better West Coast/ races of the season....
