  • ILuvTurfRacing · Sure can't blame Martin Schwartz for bringing a quality filly like Samitar over to America from racing in Europe with the purses being so march larger. From the moment I heard Schwartz was bringing her to the United States I said it wouldn't take Samitar long at all to become a G1 winner in this country and certainly didn't, as she won the G1 Garden City in her second start. She was an outstanding 2YO filly last season in Europe, too. Racked up some big paydays winning the G3 Albany Stakes and Tattersalls Millions 2YO Fillies' Trophy, and she was also placed in both the G2 May Hill Stakes and narrowly beaten by Lyric of Light in the G1 Shadwell Fillies' Mile. Her form was already rock solid in Europe this season running a very creditable 4th in the G1 Coronation Stakes at Ascot against a really deep field and then winning the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas over another deep field. Stephanie's Kitten's a very good filly in her right. But I think Samitar has raced and beaten fillies a good deal better than her in Europe and will take a world of beating at Keenland, IMO. · 224 days ago ·
