For our 5th Anniversary my wife bought me the #9 horse's saddle cloth at auction for the new man cave, complete with authentication. As for this year's preakness, do the horses have to earn any points in the derby preps to qualify or is there any change to who is eligible? If so, any horses out there you dont see making the derby field that you could see challenge at the shorter distance in pimlico?

  • illhaveanothertriplecrown · thanks, i wasnt sure about how horses are going to qualify for the preakness and belmont this year. many fans will judge horses only by points, not earnings. I didnt know if the stakes races themselves were going to do that. · 513 days ago
here is my wrap-up of the Preakness http://handicrapper.blogspot.com/
My pick is I will have another to win the triple crown. He is not just strong but fast as well. He have being given by it is trainer, jockeys and owners the best training and care to win the whole thing. Yes, it is true that every horse got a chance in any giving day to win. However, in this case they better be ready to run their best race of their life. Why? because I will have another, already proof that he can run shorter distances than the K-Derby at faster speed than all of this horses. So. one more time I see him winning because went the speed runners are through running the only three horses really running at the end will be I will have another, Creative Cause, and Wnet the Day Well. Probably, Bodemeister, will run as fast as in the Kentucky Derby, but for those that knows about training horses and racing; when a horse tend to get tire at the Derby; more than like it will get tire even faster at the preakness. This make I will have another the best horse of the race and bodemeister just to be the bunny of the race for a while only.
I will have another was my pick during the Kentucky Derby and still my pick for the preakness to win the race. This horse have done everything right this year. Some people and the media like other horses to win against him; but they are all looking for a dream or dwarfs. Why? I always say that when you are the best runner, you run like there is not another day; the day of the competition. Well, in this case " I will have another" have my vote. He ran each and every race with strenghts, speed, stamina, and healthy. This means that it is trainer and owners do take care of him a lot and love to win races and be prepare for big races. Furthermore, just like in the olympic competitions; if you are the consisten winner of each and every race. That means that everybody else have to go practice harder and get in a better shape in order to win against the champ. So far I will have another have proof itself against this group of horses; the media and some people might look for excuses for all the other horses, why they have not being able to beat him. But that's just common taking between people that don't like champions to stay on top of theior game. In my expert opinion, I will have another is the best horse out of a greeat group of horses that have being competing against each other this year. He should not only be the favor to win, but the one the people should cherrish the most during the next outing or race. After all how many times have we seen a horse like I will have another, capable to run down easily Bodemeister at a longer distance as well as capable to run shorter distances in better times that the rest of the horses running the Preakness. Let's be fair. So far he proof that he is the best. It is the other horses the ones that have to get better in order to make this competition during the Preakness a little bit more competitive. My order of finish for the Preakness is I will have another first; then the second position is a fight between four horses such as Creative Cause, Went the Day Well, Cozzine, and Bodemeister.
Interesting Preakness for Saturday. But let's not read to much into it and make it harder than it really is. I would love to see I'll Have Another win and have a chance at triple crown 3 weeks later at Belmont. But the facts are this. It's been 34 years since Affirmed did it in 1978. Second, no rookie jockey has ever won the triple crown. Third I really think that the competition over the years has got way better. All of these combine to saying that there will be no triple crown winner again this year. As far as the preakness goes I have gone through all of the horses in the race and see nobody to challenge Bodemeister for the lead. And if Mike Smith is able to rate his horse little better they will never catch him. I see a couple of comments saying Bodemeister might bounce. I don't see it. If he runs even close to what he did last race he's a winner! The only reason he died in the derby was because Smith couldn't slow him down at the begining and he ran ungodly fractions. There was no reason for it. If he paced him a little better they never would have caught him. He reminds me of Shackleford last year. I sure hope we see I'll Have Another go to Belmont with a chance at history. But that's what is going against him!

  • icyhotboo · Considering 15 out of the last 25 years (60%) there have been 2 out of 3 winners of the same race I think it's inevitable. · 800 days ago
photo finish between ill have another n creative cause further back to daddy nose bedt and a fading bodemiestr.
I'll Have Another was one of my three derby picks, and I really like him for the Preakness too. I am hoping that Creative Cause can make a comeback and show form akin to his Santa Anita form where he's a bit more driven to be near the front of the pack. I think Bode will be inthere too once more. I'm not sure about Went but he looked good in the derby so maybe a 4 horse box will do it for the tri.
If Bodemeister runs the same race as he did in the derby he will win. In order for I'll have Another to win the preakness he will have to be positioned even closer to the pace. This year reminds so much of last year withShackleford. Not winning the derby but winning the preakness. I will have to look at all the horses in the race but looks like they will be chasing Bodemeister. I really don't know if I'll have another can be closer to the pace and outlast Bodemeister. This should be a very intersting preakness. Figuring out who's going to do what and when is the fun part!

This will be Brimstone Island's coming out party. He will win this by a nose in a "ding dong battle" as the late Jimmy Hannon described the 1987 MassCap at "Suffering Downs". Who's Brimstone Island's grampa? He will also probably 50-1 or better put all your money on him.
1. I'll Have Another, 2.Bodemeister 3.Dullahan, Went The Day Well, 4. Creative Cause., I got the winner in kentucky derby ,plus trifecta with I''ll Have Another, Bodemeister, Dullahan but i missed the superfecta, my selection was I'll Have Another, Bodemeister, Dullahan and Creative Cause, so i did'nt put Went The Day Well, that was my great mistake in handicapping.but i will get next time.
If I'll have another is to win the preakness, his pilot better get him in contention quicker than he did in the derby, The distance is shorter? r
