  • ILuvTurfRacing · Been awhile between drinks for Wigmore Hall, but it's good to see him back in the winners circle again. It's kind ironic that races at 10 to 10-1/2f have always been believed to be Wigmore Hall's best trip. Yet the both of the G1 wins he has now on his resume' have come at 12f. That must be the High Chaparral coming out in him, LOL. · 249 days ago ·

It's been awhile between drinks for Wigmore Hall, but I'm glad to see him back in the winners circle again. There was stretch there between 2010 and 2011 where it looked like Wigmore Hall might become a really good horse that started with him winning the John Smith's Cup at York, then a 2nd in the G1 Secretariat Stakes and very creditable 5th of 10 in the G1 Champion Stakes to end 2010. He went off to Dubai in early 2011 and looked as good as he ever has when he won the G2 Jebel Hatta and finished 3rd in the G1 Duty Free before winning the G1 Northern Dancer the first time. But from last year's Northern Dancer win until this Northern Dancer win, Wigmore Hall had been struggling badly.
Defending victor Wigmore Hall and recent grade II winner Forte Dei Marmi are the 123-pound co-highweights in a talented eight-horse field for the $500,000 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes Presented by Vtech (Can-IT) at Woodbine Sept. 16, one of multiple graded events on the Woodbine Mile (Can-IT) underca...Read More
