Interesting that Aidan O'Brien is going after Frankel in the G1 Lockinge Stakes on Saturday with the trio of Windsor Palace, who just defeated St Nicholas Abbey in the G3 Mooresbridge Stakes in Ireland, Excelebration, and So You Think. I thought Excelebration was one of the fastest improving turf milers in Europe last season. But even then, he still had some 3 to 5 lengths to find with Frankel in their final race of the 2011 season in the G1 QE II Stakes at Ascot. Even though he didn't win as many races in his first European season in 2011 as many thought he would? I still think So You Think is cracking good horse. But I'm not sure up to Frankel's level at a mile? I always thought I'd like to see those 2 but heads eventually at 10f. On official form and ratings, Excelebration and So You Think may be the most formidable pairing thrown at Frankel yet by another stable? But gut my still says Frankel 1st and the rest nowhere in the Lockinge. But that's just one man's opinion.
  • yukichan · Excited for Frankel's return! Puzzled by SYT here at a mile, unless OB is hoping to set the race up. I think Strong Suit will give Frankel a run, but it will be Frankel no doubt crossing first. · 1471 days ago
