  • mkstorm · Shack seems to run well at Churchill, but he has won only one race beyond a mile. He'll probably face stiffer competition in the Cigar Mile, but he's never ducked competition before. So I think he should try the Cigar Mile. He'd love to see him win his last race. · 185 days ago ·

  • Capper · I'm always wrong about Shackleford, we're like oil & water. He's shown the ability to survive torrid pace duals & come out the other side no worse for wear, where others in here have not, so looks like I'm going to be including him in my bets. · 201 days ago ·

You have to love Shackleford. Every time this horse runs, he never quits. He could be the next Forego, if that is possible.

  • Capper · I don't see Jersey Town taking his game on the road around 2 turns. I thought Shackleford ran well considering he was scratched last time he was entered & ran poorly before that. Especially considering there was moisture in the track & most are of the assumption he can't handle those type of tracks. · 231 days ago ·

Nagging foot issues have limited Jersey Town’s schedule in recent years, but trainer Barclay Tagg said the 6-year-old is entering Saturday’s Grade 2, $400,000 Kelso Handicap in the best shape since he won the 2010 Grade 1 Cigar Mile Handicap.Read More

  • travel_vic · that one would have to reach DEEP inside himself to pull it off. Saw him in the flesh before he broke his knee, at 3, and was impressed. Trickmeister could do it if unpressured but ONLY if he runs to the 4th line back also at Belmontd · 234 days ago ·
