What the Nation is saying about the 2012 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (G1)...

Wherever she goes, the rain almost certainly follows and Saint-Cloud was no different on Sunday. Having been perfectly clear all day, the announcement that the 2011 Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe winner, Danedream, was to take to the track for the next race, the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, seemed to insti...Read More

  • footlick · MarcelloMarocco- You go rematch Zarkava's races. Zarkava was a better three yr old than Danedream. Period. That is the only way you can compare them like it or not. Zarkava broke the Pouliches record for 8f defeating Goldikova, won the Diane, tied the Vermeille record for 12f after dwelling at the start and spotting the field 5 lengths and then came from 17th after being in tight quarters because she ducked into the rail after the break, and had trouble getting out in the clear. before easily engulfing almost the entire field without Soumillon even raising his whip. She was the more dominant 3 yr old. Danedream was very good, but not Zarkava. Danedream lost in Germany. Danedream shipped to Japan and lost. Snow Fairy shipped to Japan and won. Shipped to Hong Kong and won. Snow Fairy was not Zarkava either. Just my opinion. Obviously not yours. · 633 days ago ·
  • footlick · should be rewatch. And Zarkava was a 2 yr old champion, going from a maiden to easily winning g the gr 1 for 2 yr old fillies on Arc day.. · 633 days ago ·
Meandre defeats Shareta in 2nd, Galikova in 3rd, and Danedream in 4th to win the G1 Grand Prix De Saint-Cloud on Sunday in France. I haven't heard yet as to why he was withdrawn out of the race? But Cirrus Des Aigles ended up being a non-runner. This was race he supposedly skipped Wednesday's G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at Ascot to enter as his prep for next month's G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot.
  • zatt · It was due to a minor infection on his ankle ... He should be back soon. · 663 days ago ·
  • ILuvTurfRacing · @zatt, thanks for that info. I had been surfing around on different European racing web-sites today trying to find out why he was scratched out of the GPDSC? · 663 days ago ·
