Super Screener Winning Criteria - Marathon

  • Rule #1 - Not More Than Four - Make sure your win contender has not run more than 4 races since a 45+ day layoff.
  • Rule #5 - Record Over Distance - A top overall record is far more important than victories at the Marathon distance.
  • Rule #7 - Toss A Turfer - Horses that prep in turf races appear to be poor win bets regardless of their odds.

Sad to see a horse that's been as class as Fame and Glory has throughout his career go out on a note like this. Aidan O'Brien's got to know by now he's just never going to win one of these races on conventional dirt at the Breeders Cup sending over horses sired by stallions from the Sadler's Wells line, I.E., Montjeu, Galileo, High Chaparral, etc... I guess you could say So You Think ran a decent race on dirt in last year's BC Classic. He wasn't beaten badly, but he was beaten easily. Aidan needs to go back to that Storm Cat bloodline he very nearly won the 2000 BC Classic with on Giant's Causeway if he ever wants to have any kind of success on the dirt at the Breeders Cup, IMO. The Sadler's Wells bloodline screams too much for turf.
  • northport · as a fan of the coolmore operation, I still have to agree with you. fame and glory has not been himself this year, and running his last race far from familiar territory isn't fair to him. I was only watching the race on a tiny screen, but to hear that the whip was out on him so early rather than just giving the horse a break was not a great note for his retirement · 1301 days ago
  • karen.sweatman.9 · Look at it this way, a 9 year old gelding from "nowhere" won, and it was his 60 something or seventy something race. Well, you know damn well he wasn't one of our's. LOL. · 1301 days ago
I betted Commader across, wish me luck!
Am i the only one who thinks grassy has a legit shot at winning this thing?
Am i the only on
I like Atigun/F&G E.Box. Atigun is the only other horse who can run with the Ballydoyle Champion. FINALLY a TRUE stayer in the Marathon.
I will use a handful of these and none of them will be named Eldaafer or Worth Repeating. Just gonna have to let them two beat me.
Atigun might have just found a race for himself. I think this is what he needs.

Worth Repeating impressive winner of a 9f stake at Fairplex around 3 turns on dirt. Second to Richards Kid in a G2 at Del Mar going 12f. Mar
