What the Nation is saying about the 2011 English St. Leger (G1)...

MASKED MARVEL showed he possesses stamina in abundance, while not lacking a turn of foot, as he gave trainer John Gosden and jockey William Buick back-to-back St Leger victories. It was a fourth win in the race for Gosden after Shantou (1996), Lucarno (2007) and Arctic Cosmos last year.Gosden said: "...Read More
  • rossington · Great race, and another very well ridden St. Leger by young William Buick!! When you see the replay of the race, you'll see that Masked Marvel was clearly much the best horse in the race today!! Even at the end of 1-3/4, it took Buick forever to pull Masked Marvel up!! · 622 days ago ·

John Gosden and William Buick win back to back English St. Leger's at Doncaster today!! As Buick rode Masked Marvel to victory for Gosden again at Doncaster after winning last year's St.Leger on Arctic Cosmos for Gosden. Brown Panther finished 2nd, with race favorite Sea Moon finishing 3rd. Irish and Yorkshire Oaks winner, Blue Bunting, finished a disappointing 6th. She never seemed like she was ever going to fully stay the 1-3/4 trip.
  • rossington · I backed Sea Moon straight up to win the St. Leger. But my tri-fecta was Sea Moon, Masked Marvel, and Brown Panther. I always box my tri-fecta's. So I played those 3 with a $2 boxed tri-fecta ticket. That $6 won me $577.50 through TVG here in America!! Happy days!! · 622 days ago ·
