  • rossington · I haven't heard officially one way or the other if Henry Cecil and Prince Khalid Abdullah intend to make the trek to Churchill Downs with Frankel in 3 weeks time for the BC Mile or not? But regardless whether Frankel shows up for the race or not? He's left little doubt that he's the best turf miler in the world by a street this year. If he does show up for the BC Mile? My advise to everyone is to lump on big. Because with no disrespect intended to Goldikova or Freddie Head, Frankel could likely stop halfway through the race to take a p-ss, and still beat Goldikova with a fare bit in hand. • medlocke · @woodbinemile, At their best, I think both Immortal Verse and Dick Turpin are really good turf milers. But Frankel's really in a category all his own. I think Immortal Verse is likely to find out the hard way that beating Goldikova over a mile like she did in the Prix Jacques Le Marois is a different proposition altogether than trying to beat to Frankel over a mile? • medlocke · I just finished watching an interview with Sir Henry Cecil that's posted on the Racing Post web-site. Cecil was interviewd by Racing Post while they were showing footage of work's for Frankel, Twice Over, and Midday in prepartion for the Champion's Day card at Ascot coming up in October. Cecil had this to say about Twice Over and Midday, and I quote: There was little between the two on the day in the Juddmonte International Stakes at York that we've decided to run the two together again in the G1 Champion Stakes. That race will be Twice Over's final race before he's reitred to stud. Because he doesn't go well enough on conventional dirt to bring him over for the BC Classic. The Champion Stakes could also possibly be Midday's final race? Although she does have an entry for the BC F&M Turf, and we're going to see first how well she comes out of the race at Ascot before we decide whether or not she'll go to Churchill Downs? If Midday does go to the BC F&M Turf? That will be her final race, for sure. End quote!! · 246 days ago ·

  • Rossington · @mary.schweitzer, That's correct!! It was on England's Racing Post web-site this morning that Aidan O'Brien intends to send Cape Blanco back to America to run in the G1 Joe Hirsch Turf Classic at Belmont on Oct. 2nd. The Joe Hirsch being 1-1/2 race should put Cape Blanco spot on for this year's Breeders Cup Turf. Likely Clement will send Winchester out after Cape Blanco instead of Gio Ponti this time. The race being 1-1/2 instead of 1-1/4. · 267 days ago ·
