  • yukichan · It is unlikely that a much anticipated match up between Black Caviar and Sepoy will happen this spring campaign (as in Southern Hemisphere spring). Sepoy will run in the G2 Caulfield Sprint on Caulfield Cup Day--the goal is the Coolmore Stud Stakes at Flemington on October 29. BC will run in the G2 Schweppes Stakes on Cox Plate Day, and in the G1 Patinack Farm Classic two weeks later at Flemington on November 5. You must check out Sepoy's win in the Manikato Stakes (G1) against older horses. Missed the start, yet won so impressively! · 594 days ago ·

FRENCH racegoers were denied the fond farewell they were hoping for in the Prix de la Foret as the great Goldikova was touched off by Dream Ahead (David Simcock/William Buick), who landed the fifth Group 1 of his career after a thrilling finish. The son of Diktat will not race next season and may hav...Read More

  • Winplacsho · I think Goldikova is better around 2 turns too. Plus, she gets a better pace to run at in the USA. In Europe, she is normally very close to the pace because its so slow. Also, in the Prix De la Foret it seemed as she made the lead too soon while Dream Ahead was allowed to buy his time along the outside. She gave a winning effort, so my confidence in her chances to win the BC mile hasn't waivered. · 596 days ago ·

  • footlick · I think hat she is running against better horses his year. Other than Makfi, Paco Boy was he best horse she ran against last year. This year she has run against Canford Cliffs, Immortal Verse and Dream Ahead. IMO they are more in Makfi's league than Paco Boy's. But she seems to love American tracks and American racing and you can't say that about all Euros. She will be a tough bet against here, unless you feel she is going to go off form. · 596 days ago ·

As the two stars exploded away from the rest of the field, it was clear that the younger male had a little bit more momentum. Goldikova battled every stride...Read More

  • Cigar16 · Her race today was way too "wham, bam, thank you ma'am". She was a tightly canned sardine on the rail, never looked comfortable, had her ears pinned, and never had the chance to settle. The jock moved her a tad to early just to get her comfortable and clear knowing full well she needed it! That being said, she had her burst of speed a bit too early and it was nowhere near as strong as usual. I believe she was a bit beat from humming along in that sardine can. She should come in strong to CD. · 597 days ago ·

  • fonnerparkfilly · I think Head is correct, "the mileage is catching up to Goldikova". At what point are we expecting too much of a horse? Time and time again this mare has dug deep and given her all against the best, male and female, but she can't beat father time. I have nothing but absolute respect for Goldikova. She is a great thoroughbred. Losing without losing heart is the mark of a great champion. Goldi girl is that and more. I still believe that longevity defines a horse. Win or lose, we all know the depth of Goldikova's soul. As for the Breeders Cup, a 4th time? I wouldn't bet against her. · 597 days ago ·

  • yukichan · Agree...it is SYT's race to lose, but the talent in this race is pretty awesome. And what do you think of the supplement of Meandre, Danedream, and Masked Marvel? Make the Arc even more exciting and complicated...for second place! I think the firm/fast going also works against Danedream. So my picks are SYT, Sarafina, Galikova. · 601 days ago ·

Goldikova will not bid to win her 15th top-level race at Longchamp on Sunday as trainer Freddy Head has had a change of mind about the outstanding mare's autumn campaign.Rather than running in the Prix du Moulin she will wait for the Prix de la Foret on October 2 before her bid for an unprecedented ...Read More

  • icyhotboo · medlocke : I've lost all faith in your knowledge of horse racing with these type of childish threads. Zenyatta was better than Goldilocks ever thought of being because she ran the classic distance by which all horses are judged by except on this site where they try to feed you that stuff about distance doesn't matter. Go tell it to the breeders! · 619 days ago ·
