What the Nation is saying about the 2011 Preakness (G1)...

Animal Kingdom and Force Freeze answered some lingering questions in their 2012 debuts at Gulfstream Park.Read More

  • Floridaf · I expect Force Freeze to have a good year, too. He has consistently ran well in the U.S. If you look at his racing record, his worst efforts have come overseas in Dubai. I don't expect him to go off at long odds at all this year. The secret with him is definitely out. · 3 days ago ·

  • grdhzloinz · Fortunately I was able to attend the Kings Bishop race in Saratoga to see Caleb's Posse's win! He is a fantastic horse and knows how to win his race no matter the competitors. He can beat two Triple Crown race winners and the Haskell winner in one race. He can beat the horse that went on to win the Wood Memorial. He can beat the winner of the Dwyer Stakes. Stay Thirsty is not the Rodney Dangerfield of the Pletcher barn, he is the Rodney Dangerfield of racing. Read More

  • DeadHeat · Winplacsho, I have to disagree. The Travers has more prestige and hold more value in the year end votes than either the Preakness or the Belmont. People favor it because it's Classic distance of 10f, a distance Shackleford never won at. Also, while Shackleford is a gutsy and admirable horse, he did not "take his show on the road." He has two wins this year, on in allowance company, the other in the Preakness, and he never could return to that winning form. He was well beaten in his last three races, as he was in the FOY, The Derby, and Belmont. He was at every dance, but like First Dude last year, there are two many beats to be a champion. Caleb excelled mainly at Saratoga, however his big win at Churchill demonstrates he is probably not just a Saratoga freak. Based on merits, it's Caleb's award. However, if the stigma comes out, and he should not receive the award, Stay Thirst did the most of the Classic runners. · 63 days ago ·

I think Coil will run big. Stay Thirsty made Ruler on Ice look better, but down goes his odds even more. Pants On Fire??? I guess I sound as undecided as ever. Great field, though! Racing needs to bring its head out of the sand and into the light. The leaders of this sport need to make sure that it is not being cheapened and stand up and fight for what will improve it, rather than let others make decisions that just lead the sport deeper into oblivion.Read More

so , Shackleford will again controlling the space as his will in the Belmomnt Stakes, as such a speed horse as he is, if he can lead the way what he did in the Preakness, i believe in the Belmont distance most of the horse will be getting tired as thay chase this speed horse, so you see in the Preakness , although it it was 1-3/16 of a mile, good and class horse has no barrier to the distance, weather it is 1-1/4 mile or 1-1/8 mile or 1-3/16 mile he should have beat the speedy Shackleford, i saw lot of 1-1/2 mile races specially in england and india, there is no barrier to go for distance, so i still think that Shackleford has a great shot at Belmont disatnce, otherwise Dale Roman did not enter his horse in the Belmont, if he can win the Belmont, then Shackleford has a chance to win the horse of the year.

Meanwhile, in England the combined 2010 winni...Read More
