  • Rossington · There's really no getting around this point in 2011. The middle distance turf horses that have been shipping over to North America from Europe are just superior to the middle distance turf horses from North America themselves. That's not a knock, just a fact. Cape Blanco, Treasure Beach, Stacelita, and now Wigmore Hall have all shipped to North America and won at least one major G1 turf stakes. In the case of Cape Blanco, he's shipping back from Ireland for a crack at his third G1 turf stakes in North America. For as good as Acclamation has been carrying the middle distance turf banner for America this season. It's difficult to see past one of the European contenders winning this year's BC Turf. · 252 days ago ·

@zoee42479, I hate to be disagreeable with you. But Wigmore Hall is absolutely not "probably" for the G1 Northern Dancer Stakes at Woodbine in September 18th. I read England's Racing Post everyday, and also keep up with the news on European horses via RacingUK and AtTheRaces.com, and I can tell you for certain that Wigmore Hall's trainer, Michael Bell, has said repeatedly that Wigmore Hall's next start will be in the G1 Champion Stakes at Royal-Ascot over 10f on October 15th. Another reason you won't see Wigmore Hall in the Northern Dancer is that it's a 12f races. In 17 lifetime starts, Bell has never entered or raced Wigmore Hall in any race beyond 10f.
