Older Comments about the 2011 Lonsdale Cup (G2)...

What an excellent race the G2 Lonsdale Cup turned out to be on the final day of the Ebor Festival at York on Saturday!! A very intense stretch duel developed between Goodwood Cup winner, Opinion Poll and Yorkshire Cup winner, Duncan. Opinion Poll and Duncan fought each other hammer and tong through the stretch at York, with Opinion Poll finally overtaking Duncan to win by 3/4 of a length in the final 200 yards. Opinion Poll is a marvelous stayer, and is really having one of the most productive seasons of his career in 2011. Having finished an ultra game 2nd to Fame and Glory in the G1 Ascot Gold Cup. Then he win's the G2 Goodwood Cup and the G2 Lonsdale Cup for a second consecutive year.
