Flashpoint breezed 3F in :37 the day before his fantastic triumph over Travelin Man in the Grade 2 7F Hutcheson Stakes at Gulfstream this weekend. I love this move, babe. Copying the practices of legendary trainer Carl Nafzger with a blowout 24 hours pre-race instead of simply following the pack of ...Read More
Flashpoint, shipping in from New York for Rick Dutrow Jr., stole the show in the $150,000 Hutcheson (gr. II), as he ran away from odds-on favorite Travelin Man to romp by 7 1/4 lengths Feb. 26 at Gulfstream Park.An impressive debut maiden winner Jan. 15 at Aqueduct, Flashpoint was ambitiously placed...Read More
  • ajump08 · As a side note I'd like to mention that there is no way that the 83 Brisnet Speed figure that was listed for Flashpoint's maiden is correct. 1:09:3 definitely deserves a better rating; races going under 1:12 have been recieving speed figures well over 83. Just thought I'd throw hat out there. · 457 days ago ·

Because of the abundance of speed and drawing the disadvantageous rail in the seven-furlong Hutcheson Stakes (gr. II), trainer Kiaran McLaughlin said Feb. 25 on “At the Races With Steve Byk” that he is considering scratching Crossbow and waiting for the Gotham Stakes (gr. III) March 5 at Aqueduct.Mc...Read More

The Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) might be the headline event at Gulfstream Park on Saturday but the Hutcheson Stakes (G2) appears to be the better wagering opportunity. Ten three-year-olds will line up for the seven furlong Hutcheson and Todd Pletcher's Travelin Man is the 5-2 morning line favorite...Read More
