To Honor and Serve put on a quite the display, November 26, 2011, when he rolled clear of the classy Calibrachoa. The son of Bernardini has been a puzzling this season, to say the least. • DeadHeat · I do not think this field is weak at all. You have the Travers runner up and third place finisher and the Belmont winner, just off the top of my head. Plus the surface can be a little bit quirky at times. If THAS is the type of horse that can't go eye to eye with top horses he will run third to horses that may not be nearly as talented. From what i have seen this year he won't go by a horse if they fight back and they are abreast eachother. · 942 days ago ·

  • railbird33 · Ann, you're dead on! The BC Juvenile isn't a good predictor of Derby success, in that one one- Street Sense has been successful in 25 previous champions. Also, although the last four Derby winners had two 3YO starts - that REALLY bucks history in that less than ten KY Derby winners have won on two 3 YO starts in 136 tries, and some really good horses: Point Given, Curlin, Afeet Alex, Lucking at Lucky weren't fit. I don't see a triple crown winner this year. Based on Uncle Mo's 89 Beyers in his only 3YO start- he'll have to be a super-improved horse in a twenty horse field at a mile & a quarter. I'm looking else-where. · 1123 days ago ·

  • tstoztr1 · Uncle Mo didn't break a sweat getting an 89 Beyer in the TW. Most of this year's Derby contenders are going all out to earn in the 90s. I think we'll see Mo run a low 100s in the Wood and Johnny V won't even use the whip. The key to winning the Derby is having your horse peak at the right time. I think Mo is a lock, just like Big Brown was. · 1120 days ago ·
