What the Nation is saying about the 2011 Forward Gal (G2)...

The year 2009 will best be remembered as it pertains to the Kentucky Oaks by Rachel Alexandra’s jaw-dropping 20 ¼ length victory, but one other very significant ritual was inaugurated for the 135th running of the Kentucky Oaks. The Survivors Parade: a heartwarming march down the homestretch and past...Read More

  • KyOaksRunner · It's going to be a fantastic race, and what a great field entered in a race that honors one of the greatest 3-year-old fillies of all time. I think Kathmanblu is the class of the field though Inglorious is pretty intriguing. · 469 days ago ·

The Davona Dale Stakes was supposed to be a celebration of Dancinginherdreams but instead Todd Pletcher brought one of his fillies in to crash the party and make a very serious case for her Kentucky Oaks worthiness.Read More

  • KyOaksRunner · @Brian - That we do! Yes, I finally got to see It's Tricky's win and it was impressive to say the least, do you happen to have a link to her Busher win, I lost it somewhere along the line. · 454 days ago ·

  • KyOaksRunner · @Mary - From all I've been able to gather it looks to me like Awesome Feather is coming out of her injury very sound. Personal Ensign went on to become one of the greatest filly of the modern age after a serious injury so there's still hope. :) I have faith. · 454 days ago ·

  • KyOaksRunner · Dacinginherdreams had her run completely negated by being so close up. She just barely managed to get up for second but I think she would have been a whole lot closer if she had closed from far back. Lets hope she stretches out next time. If nothing else she sure got a lot of conditioning out of the Davona Dale. R Heat Lightning ran huge! · 457 days ago ·

Dancinginherdreams and R Heat Lightning had attracted all the pre-race publicity coming into Sunday's $200,000 Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream Park, but Pomeroys Pistol had a race over the track. That factor likely provided just enough of an advantage for Pomeroys Pistol to register a surprising th...Read More
While I realize she probably has no chance against the likes of R Heat Lightning, I'm intrigued by Alexandra Rylee and anxious to see how she fares. I've enjoyed her earlier races but wondering if she can get past 6f.
Strong field for this year's Forward Gal. I have a lot of respect for Dancinginherdreams, but I think at this distance, it is R Heat Lightning who is the one to beat. Several others have potential to be really good sprinters as well. Should be fun!
