  • Mike in SB · This spring I got to the Keeneland spring meet for the first time and it was a great experience. I have only been to Keenelland in the fall for the sales, never for racing but it would have to be pretty special to top the spring meet. · 592 days ago ·

  • xMystix · Is Inglorious for sure running in the Queen's Plate? I watched the wins of Inglorious and Check Your Soul, and the trainer of Inglorious seemed hesitant and very non-committal after witnessing Check Your Soul win his race. I haven't heard and read much news on Inglorious' possible next start in the Queen's Plate, though. · 706 days ago ·

Between them, jockeys Joel Rosario and Rafael Bejarano have won every riding title at a major meet in Southern California since 2008. However, in search of their first triumph in the Run for the Roses, each will ride long shots in the 137th running of the $2 million Kentucky Derby (Grade I) presente...Read More

I am thrilled to be heading to Keeneland today. It is not only one of America’s finest racetracks, but it is nestled lovingly in the middle of the rolling bluegrass hills of horse country. Lexington, Kentucky is the heart and soul of thoroughbred horse racing, and Keeneland is a beautiful place to p...Read More

  • KyOaksRunner · I agree with you Brian, it's kind of a shame to have such a prestigious prep on synthetics after so many years of effective dirt prepping. · 762 days ago ·

  • TiznowReynolds · Sad to say but anymore the Bluegrass just isn't a great race. Pretty much a turf race that lets a horse get in who probably won't impact the Derby. The losers of the Bluegrass lately have been one's to watch it seems like. · 762 days ago ·

Brilliant Speed’s pedigree is similar to that of one of the most popular and talented Derby winners in recent times, Barbaro. That valiant Champion proved that he was equally adept over dirt and turf. Let’s take a closer look at Brilliant Speed’s bloodlines to discover if he has what it takes to be ...Read More
  • ajump08 · I felt lucky win this guy won. I made two bets on the Blue Grass an exacta that keyed King Congie, and a small win bet on the other Albertrani trainee, Brilliant Speed. I was cheering for King Congie and got that losing feeling when I saw Twinspired approaching. I then saw some horse flying on the outside, and at first look I thought he lost. At this point I still had no idea it was the 5 since the saddle clothes were all the same color. Then I look at the shudder cam and see that it was the 5, Brilliant Speed, that closed. I was now even more depressed because I though he'd lost. Well, after a lengthy photo they put up the 5 and I along with the men surrounding me at the Charles Town simulcasting facility were elated. Anyway I can't say I see Brilliant Speed being much on dirt. Soldat made that move, but his dirt races were solid and his breeding was more tailored towards dirt. · 763 days ago ·

Brilliant Speed, unhurried in the early going under Joel Rosario, stormed down the middle of the track to nip Twinspired at the wire in Saturday's Grade 1 Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland. Read More
  • bband · Good work if you had Brilliant Speed. This horse was tough to have in a wide open race. I agree that Twinspired ran very well. But it's hard to bank on any of these doing well at Churchill. Then again, Paddy O'Prado looked like a turf horse last year, before running a good third in the Derby. · 764 days ago ·

By about 7:15 PM EDT today we will hopefully have a better idea of just who the main players will be in the Kentucky Derby, which will be run three weeks from today.  The Blue Grass at Keeneland today might not give a great indication as it will be run over a synthetic surface for the fifth tim...Read More
I like Sensational Sam with Santiva and Praetereo
I like the Maker horses. I was going to throw out Twinspired after his last performance but after studying it further he ran wide the whole way and was making up ground at the end. Joes Blazing Aaron wire job makes me think he could get a nice easy trip. The price is right at 12-1 and 21-1. I'm gonna bet a Mike Maker W,P,S and exacta.
I like Wilcox Inn with Brilliant Speed here even though Santiva is in my Road to the Roses stable
I like Joes Blazing Aaron wire to wire, I don't see too much speed, horse wired a field on the GP turf at the distance in a G3, I think his form will transfer well to the artificial at Keeneland.
ah the turf prep, I like Santiva, but I wsh this was dirt, look for a good finish by Twinspired.
