What the Nation is saying about the 2011 Al Quoz Sprint (G2)...

J J The Jet Plane overcame an extremely troubled path to land the Group 2 Al Quoz Sprint, the opening race of the Dubai World Cup meeting, in a thrilling four-way finish.Getting blocked in his run on multiple occasions, jockey Bernard Fayd'herbe found several dead ends before finally getti...Read More
Leandro Mora has made many trips to Dubai, with widely varying degrees of success, as an assistant for Doug O’Neill. This year, they bring QUICK ENOUGH for the 2011 Al Quoz Sprint (G2) over the straight 1,000 metres trip. Mora is hopeful for a big run.Read More
The morning started with a thick coat of fog shrouding the glistening facade of Meydan, so much so you could barely see a metre ahead on the ride to the racecourse which, for most of the media, commenced at 6:00 A.M.  Many of the Japanese runners took to the course around this time and looked i...Read More
Somewhat surprisingly, the posts were drawn for the four thoroughbred races preceeding the top Group 1 races, which will be fully drawn on Wednesday afternoon in a function at Meydan.  The odds quoted below are DubaiRaceNight.com’s projected morning, or opening, line based on our analysis of th...Read More
  • medlocke · Tough draw for Godolphin's Skysurfers in the Godolphin Mile. He looked incredible when he beat Musir in the Firebreak Stakes and set a Meydan track record for a mile on tapeta in that race. I put him up as the most likely winner of this year's Godolphin Mile that day. But with this extremely wide P.P draw, it could certainly make thing's very difficult for Skysurfers. I'd have to say given his previous start at Meydan, and the good P.P. draw he has, keep a close eye on Conveyance in this race. JMO. · 434 days ago ·

I Want Revenge is going to Dubai after all. Unfortunately for trainer Rick Dutrow and an ownership group headed by the IEAH Stable, he won't be going into the race they'd hoped for. I Want Revenge will compete in the $1 million Godolphin Mile at Meydan on the evening of March 26 rather than the main...Read More
  • medlocke · He'll be lucky to even make the frame in the Godolphin Mile, IMO. Skysurfers will be the horse to beat in that race, and there's others entered that run the tapeta extremely well also. It's a big ask by Dutrow for I Want Revenge in this race. · 445 days ago ·

Trainer Rick Dutrow Jr. is hoping that history repeats itself when it comes to Dubai World Cup night.Dutrow sent his first two runners to Dubai in 2008 and both won, with eventual champion sprinter Benny the Bull capturing the $2 million Dubai Golden Shaheen (UAE-I) and Diamond Stripes prevailing in...Read More
Chamberlain Bridge moved closer to a trip to Dubai on Saturday night, when he won his first start since taking the Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint in the $75,000 Rail Splitter at Sam Houston Race Park. The five-furlong turf race served as his prep for the Group 2, $1 million Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan Race C...Read More
  • medlocke · Chamberlain Bridge looked brilliant winning the B.C. Turf Sprint and the Rail Splitter Stakes at Sam Houston. I think he's got a huge shot at bringing the Al Quoz Sprint Trophy home to America from Dubai this year. I think one of his biggest threats could be Happy Dubai. Who's already won two 5f sprints on the turf at Meydan during the Carnival. But I'd have say Chamberlain Bridge is much more the class horse of the two. JMO. · 469 days ago ·
