Talk about losing the photo on the bob. That's about as close as it get's. I think likely rust from being off since the Breeders Cup Classic in November is what beat Gio Ponti today as much as anything. I'm not taking anything away from Karelian. He ran a very game race today in winning the Tampa Bay Stakes. But Gio Ponti really was caught in a pace that was far too slow for his liking. Frankly, I'd bet Gio Ponti to beat Karelian 9 out of 10. Today just happened to be that 1 out of 10. IMO.

  • ruby · Nothing wrong with that loss at all. Sets him up for Dubai perfectly. That race set up like a dream for Karelian. · 2317 days ago
