Battle of Hastings should pick up this payday and with Gio Ponti's connections announcing yesterday on Bloodhorse.com that since winning 4 straight grade 1 races on turf, that they felt they didn't have anything left to prove on turf in America, if BOH can get the mile and a half distance in the Breeder's Cup Turf, he may even pick up the big check since Gio Ponti's connections seem to be committing their colt to the Breeder's Cup Classic.
I still don't understanding Battle of Hastings skipping the Secretariat with the big bonus?? He's useful, but the 3yo turf division is weakish.
Battle of Hastings may be the 2nd best turf horse in America right now behind Gio Ponti. Even with Gio Ponti's recent loss, you have to figure that either the soft turf or the 11/2 in the rain caused his defeat.
