The Secretariat Stakes was a big win for Take The Points. It brought him back around to the winner circle again. Beating Black Bear Island is no easy task either. This is the colt, that in his maiden race at Curragh in Ireland in 2008, finished 2nd to Driven Snow, and finished ahead of 3rd place finisher in his maiden, the great Sea The Stars. Of course, STS never lost again after losing his maiden. But Black Bear Island went on to race well in Ireland and Great Britain. Storming from the back of the pack at York in 2009 to beat a very good field in the 2009 Dante Stakes.
