I think you need to give Patena and Flying Pegasus another shot. Flying Pegasus is not that many lengths worse than Friesan Fire (see Risen Star).
Friesan Fire was simply impressive. That was a Derby winning move, no doubt about it! I would take him over Old Fashioned any day of the week. Flying Pegasus disappointed... so did Patena.
