careless Jewel went straight to the front as expected, but she failed to settle and ran off under Landry. She stopped on a dime, and her early antics set things up Zenyatta's stablemate Life Is Sweet, who swept to an easy score. Mushka rallied for the place, and Music Note filled out the tri for the 2nd straight year.

Icon Project ran a couple of the most impressive races of the year, outside of Rachel. It would have been awesome to see her match up against Zenyatta and Careless Jewel. Just imagine if Zenyatta goes in the Classic... then Careless Jewel is the favorite and could have an easy go of it. Couldn't have been a much easier spot for Rachel to jump in...

Even if Zenyatta goes this route instead of the Classic, first wins the Lady's Secret,with the kind of year Careless Jewel, Icon Project, Swift Temper, and Music Note have had, beating this group and ending her season at 14-0 should put her in the discussion for at least co-HOY, unless Summer Bird wins the Classic. Then it's a done deal, or should be. But baring Summer Bird winning the Classic and Zenyatta ending 14-0 it must be considered. It's not Zenyatta's fault that Rachael Alexandra is shunning the Breeders Cup. I thought championship caliber horses were supposed to run in championship caliber races.

Agree that Icon Project is a monster... and if she doesn't bounce in the Spinster and comes into the Ladies Classic on a roll... then the race goes through her, not Zenyatta.

Yes, Medlocke is right on. I actually think it's a terrific race without Rachel. Assumning Icon Project, Careless Jewel and Zenyatta keep winning, and Swift Temper looks decent. Also need a few others so it's not a 5-horse field (obviously).

- Rainbow View from Europe
- Cocoa Beach

That's one heck of a race. Zenyatta better have her running shoes on... a weak field of CA mares this is not...

I've been saying for a while now... this filly is the real deal. People don't think of her in the same conversation as Rachel and Zenyatta, but when they open up the PP's for the Distaff... umm, the Ladies Classic... they will be saying Careless Jewel vs. Zenyatta, and it will be a head-scratcher as to who will win that fight...
