The 2010 Kentucky Derby Future Wager kicks off with Pool 1 on Friday, February 12.  One change Churchill Downs made this year was to limit the wager to three days.  Hopefully, this won't impact the handle negatively, but it might, as it often takes all four days for the handle to build in this unique wager which pushes the pari-mutuel system to act more like a bookmaking system when enough money is put in over the four days.

Dates for the three Kentucky Derby Future Wager pools are:

Pool 1:		February 12-14
Pool 2:		March 5-7
Pool 3:		March 26-28

Betting will open each day at noon (ET). The Kentucky Derby pools will close at 6 p.m. on Sunday, while betting on the lone Kentucky Oaks pool (pool 2) will conclude at 6:30 p.m.  Exacta wagering will be offered during all three KDFW pools in 2010.
