He wins the G1 English 2000 Guineas on Saturday with Camelot... more and then takes the ladies equivalent G1 English 1000 Guineas on Sunday with Homecoming Queen!! Probably not the filly of the two that Aidan O'Brien thought was most likely to win the race for Coolmore? As his star, former unbeaten filly Power, ended up 3rd in the English 1000 Guineas. But there were recent signs from Homecoming Queen that she was more than capable of running a big race at Newmarket. As she'd recently beaten her 2 stablemates Fire Lily and Up in the G3 Irish 1000 Guineas Trial Leopardstown. The big disappointments of the race without a doubt had to be the Godolphin duo. Discourse finishing 16th of 17, and Lyric of Light finishing stone motherless last. |
