|ILuvTurfRacing After her sub-par run in the Prince of Wales's Stakes, trainer Criquette Head-Maarek had her filly thoroughly checked out, believing it was something ... morehysical that cause her disappointing run at Ascot and she will now face a spell on the sidelines having been diagnosed with pull muscles in her back. Treve will miss all of the mid-summer races and be off the track until at least September according to her connections. Not the first filly that's came to Ascot, not ran as well as expected, and then claimed pulled muscles after the race, I.E., Black Caviar in 2012.
|buzzcat859 I love her sat. at Meydan. Im Taking a big exacta box with "The Fugue". Then a smaller exacta saver with the 2(Japan Champ) Box 2-4-10
|Northport Surprised no one has mentioned yet that she races tomorrow in the G1 Takarazuka Kinen at Hanshin. She goes 2200m against some pretty stiff competition... more including Meisho Mambo, Gold Ship, Verxina, Denim and Ruby, etc.

|yukichan Corine Barbe says injury not too serious, but more xrays coming--pointed towards Ascot: “We think it was just a little problem and nothing too seriou... more. He was really lame straight after the race, but was much better very quickly. “He has had an X-ray already and there is a small shadow, but on the whole the report is not too bad, which is fantastic. “He will have some more X-rays in a few days and we will know more at the end of the week, but he had some medication yesterday, he has not had any since and he seems well this morning.”
|ILuvTurfRacing No dispute this time!! Sky Lantern uses that late blistering turn of foot to run down Integral to win the G1 Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket, her 3rd ... more1 win this season. Sir Michael Stoute's Integral finished in 2nd with a much improved effort from her Beverly D. Stakes flop by Duntle to finish to 3rd.

|ILuvTurfRacing After 2 very solid runs at a mile in the G1 Lockinge Stakes & G1 Queen Anne Stakes, trainer Aidan O'Brien has opted to move Verrazano up in trip from ... more mile to 10f for the G1 Coral-Eclipse this Saturday at Sandown. This time though, Verrazano will be ridden by jockey Ryan Moore instead of Joseph O'Brien. Coolmore will also send out War Command trying 10f for the first time in his career in the Coral-Eclipse with jockey Seamie Heffernan penciled in for that mount.

|ILuvTurfRacing It appears that it's gonna be a very quick turnaround for Olympic Glory. Al Shaqab racing manager Harry Herbert announced today to the European racing... moremedia that just 8 days after winning the G1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury, Olympic Glory will travel to Longchamp for a head to head face off with Cirrus Des Aigles on Sunday in the G1 Prix d'Ispahan over the extended 9f.

|ILuvTurfRacing After seeing the results of the Queen Anne Stakes & St James's Palace Stakes, a Kingman vs. Toronado head to head meeting in the G1 Sussex Stakes is n... moret only a must see race, but a must happen race, IMO. I'll be hugely disappointed if Richard Hannon, Jr. or John Gosden either one sidestep the Sussex Stakes if both of their horses are fit and ready to run come late July. Kingman is clearly the best 3yo turf miler in Europe and though I suppose at present you could also make a case for Olympic Glory being the best older turf miler, I'd still be willing to bet Hannon, Jr. & Richard Hughes would say Toronado is the better horse of the two at a mile. This could be the most anticipated meeting at a mile on turf we've seen in a long time.
|yukichan I guess the Euros forgot their passports, Strong Suit tried to tell me this at the gate...
|ILuvTurfRacing Interesting renewal for this year's Coronation Cup. Other than the fact there's a couple of very talented horses from France who might be making the t... moreek to Epsom in Cirrus Des Aigles & Flintshire, last year's Epsom Derby & Epsom Oaks winners, Ruler of the World & Talent, will be returning to the sight of their greatest triumphs to date to also knock heads in the Coronation Cup. The last time I can remember an Oaks & Derby winner from the season squaring off was when 2010 Oaks winner Snow Fairy & 2010 Derby winner Workforce met in the 2011 Coral-Eclipse, but both were beaten by So You Think. This is a very different proposition though in that they'll be returning to Epsom to face each other over the same 12f trip each won the Oaks & Derby over last season. Should be an interesting race for sure. Especially adding Cirrus Des Aigles into the mix who looks the more definite of the 2 French horses to run at Epsom.

Not A Single Doubt
|ILuvTurfRacing This comes from the front page of today's AtTheRaces.com web-site via trainer Aidan O'Brien: Unbeaten colt Geoffrey Chaucer could be prepared for a ti... moret at the G1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains(French 2000 Guineas) at Longchamp on May 11th. O'Brien said Geoffrey Chaucer will either go there or the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown on the same day. English St Leger winner Leading Light is being pointed at the G1 Ascot Gold Cup and will begin his season in the Vintage Crop Stakes at Navan. Also headed to Ascot is the former American based Verrazano for the G1 Queen Anne Stakes at a mile according to O'Brien. He ended the interview by saying that War Command and Australia are both well and training great and both will are being pointed at Newmarket for the G1 English 2000 Guineas, which now puts to rest any previous comments I've seen on here about War Command skipping the English Guineas for the French equivalent. If Australia does indeed show up at Newmarket that just put a whole new twist on the Guineas picture for Kingman & Toormore as far as I'm concerned.
|ILuvTurfRacing This is a horse that as a 3yr.old in 2011 for Coolmore/Ballydoyle finished 2nd in the G2 Dante Stakes at 10-1/2f, 2nd in the G1 Irish Derby and G1 Gra... mored Prix De Paris at 12f, 3rd in the G2 Great Voltigeur Stakes at 12f, and 4th in the G1 English St. Leger at 14-1/2f. So Coolmore sell Seville to new owners to go race in Australia and they send him out first time at 8f where he finishes 4th and at 7f the second time where he finishes 10th. Sorry, but you're just not ever going to turn a horse who needs 12f to be seen to best effective into an Australian sprinter. But a lot of the trainers in that country are so geared to training horses for sprint distances that I sometimes wonder if they'd know a real middle distance horse like Seville obviously is if it bit them square in the a$$.
