SA 3/20/2010 R8 - Jarrod Horak's Play
Saturday's 8th race (4:08PM PT) from Santa Anita Park is the Grade 2 San Luis Rey Handicap for 4yo's and up traveling a mile and a half on the turf. #2 High Court Drama (3-1) might prove too classy for these. Gave talented turfer Loup Breton fits last time, and he split Mast Track and Neko Bay in a graded synthetic affair before that. Fresh and ready to break through with a graded win for O’Neill. #3 Bourbon Bay (9-5) has won his last two turf marathons in convincing fashion. Another stalk and pounce tally could easily be in the cards. The Play...

GP 3/20/2010 R11 - Florida Derby
It is one week away from my first video of the year on YouTube. Be sure to watch it on TyAnthony88. I'm so exciting about this year.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------It is going to be a beautiful day at Gulfstream with the temperature being 74 degrees this Saturday. My 3 picks:7-Rule9-Miner's Reserve11-RadioheadMy pick to win:9-Miner's ReserveRule: 4 straight wins in a mile or more races for the Pletcher-trained horse including a 3 length win in his last race. Usually se...

GP 3/20/2010 R9 - Carson Hall Will Run Lifetime Best in G3 Appleton
POST TIME 5:14 EST--#4 Carson Hall (10-1) is sitting on a huge race today. This late bloomer has put in three very strong races since October. He has an incredible turn of foot and can stalk which is key for this grass surface as it gets beaten down this time of year. Trainer Barclay Tagg typically gets the most out of his charges later in the GP meet. The switch to the grass specialist, Ramon Dominguez, is another positive sign. Carson Hall hit a new top first back from the layoff and then regressed, as expec...

GP 3/20/2010 R8 - Go with South American Invader In G3 Rampart
POST TIME 4:42 EST--Decent G3 race for fillies and mares going the difficult 1 1/8 mile configuration at GP. Since there are no super stars in this field, my attention can't help but turn to the South American invader and Carribean champion, #1 Bambera (8-1). I don't care what the competition was, any filly that can win 16 of 18 is going to grab my attention especially the way she has just been stalking, pouncing and drawing away from her competition. Check out this video of the Clasico Del Caribe- G1. http://www.yo...

GP 3/20/2010 R10 - G2 Swale Stakes - D'Funnybone in a Laugher!
Saturday's 10th race (5:45PM ET) from Gulfstream Park is the Grade 2 Swale Stakes for 3yo's traveling seven furlongs on the main track. #7 D'Funnybone (6-5) is 4 for 5 in conventional dirt sprints, with his lone blemish a 1/2 length defeat to Derby trail player Jackson Bend. Came back with a professional score in the G2 Hutcheson at this course/distance on Feb 20th. Dutrow is 25% 2nd off the shelf, so he figures to hold form or move up today. Stalk and pounce win at low odds seems likely. I'll shoot for some value in the exotics with #9 Privila...

GP 3/20/2010 R11 - G1 Florida Derby - Soaring Empire Rules the Day
Saturday's 11th race (6:20PM ET) from Gulfstream Park is the Grade 1 Florida Derby for 3yo's traveling a mile and an eighth on the main track. #1 Soaring Empire (20-1) has been on my radar screen for quite some time. He was an honorable mention member on my first Derby Top 10 post last Nov. The first thing that catches the eye is an Empire Maker-A.P. Indy colt scored right out of the box at 5.5f, and he pulled off that feat after breaking 10th at Monmouth. Nothing wrong with flat mile graded placing 2nd time out, and he returned with a professi...

GP 3/20/2010 R7 - G2 Bonnie Miss - Come and get Switch!
Saturday's 7th race (4:11PM ET) from the Gulf is the Grade 2 Bonnie Miss for 3yo fillies traveling a mile and an eighth on the main track. I have been following #2 Switch (4-1) in SoCal, and the lightly raced miss has always looked the part in morning drills. Sharp debut sprint tally to kick off career, and she came out of that race to finish a close 3rd versus graded foes. Tried a route of ground last time, and she was run down by divisional leader Blind Luck in a rock solid effort. Not much pace in the paper race, and I am looking for a wire ...

GP 3/20/2010 R11 - Mild Play
Florida Derby - I like Rule to win this one outright - however the place bet makes this an interesting Exacta. With an Exacta Box Bet I'm taking - 7 w 1,2,6 and 8. (And 1,2,6,8 w 7). I agree with what David Crone has said about this race and with a little luck maybe First Dude or Soaring Empire will surprise.

GG 3/20/2010 R3 - Today's Racing Digest's Golden Gate Play of the Day
This sprint has the look of another of those father-and-son affairs as dad Bill Morey, Jr. sends over the promising Trapper's Bounty while trying to beat son Bill E. Morey and recent-claim Park Time Luck. Trapper's Bounty backed up the pace and dominated her foes at this level February 27 when coming home in a quick 24.2 after a soft opening half in 46-flat. She can certainly go faster than that if necessary but she might not need to against this rather sluggish group in order to secure her third win from just four starts. Pa...

AQU 3/20/2010 R3 - Today's Racing Digest's Aqueduct Play of the Day
Wicked Climb and Kid Freud make up the A-entry and both look like top contenders. 'Climb beat this kind three back Jan 10 and was 2nd at this level Feb 28. Either race would to well on paper and he has good early speed. We'll give Wicked Climb the slight edge as the HF 15a. 'Freud tops the charting off his 5th vs. equally-rated NY-bred NW1 Allowance sprinters Feb 6. He has tactical speed and won his last start vs. claimers Dec 11. Brock N Roll has rallied for a share in his last two vs. similar and should ha...
