Sunday's 5th race (3:05pm ET) from Woodbine is the Grade 2, $300,000 Canadian Stakes for fillies and mares traveling a mile and an eighth on the turf course.

#3 Stars To Shine (6-1) was a fine 3rd from post 14 in this event last year behind Never Retreat and Perfect Shirl. She started 2012 with a back-to-back synthetic Stakes wins before finishing a fading 9th (wide from post 9) in the G1 Beverly D. The rebound threat enjoys the local weeds and projects a tactical trip under Alex Solis.

Reasonable choice. The German filly has been on the grounds a few weeks now and had a so so last outing here, BUT has a good shot to turn around, Still your choice ranks high in this one,,,,Depends on the all important GROUP opinion of the crowd that we call ODDS.
9 Kapitale (GER) 3 Stars to Shine 2 Laughing (IRE) ...BEWARE the Irish breds however.

Good call on her Jarrod. Like the fact she has a nice 5F work and her track record at Woody is great. Really thought about singling her in my pk 4 play but couldn't get past #2 Laughing and some of the longshots. My gut says she will be in the 3rd or 4th choice range, so your spot play is dead on. Don't discount #8 Indian Pond ML 15-1. She ran well in the G2 Dance Smartly back in July behind the heavy fav Marking Mix. If the board dictates, I feel a heavy handed show bet on Indian Pond may offer value. Thoughts?
