POST TIME: 7:45 PM EST-- This year's edition of the Coyote Handicap features a full field of 12 pretty evenly matched sprinters making this a great Play of the Day race that is sure to produce value. Two price horses are catching my eye--#9 Forest Echoes (12-1) and #3 Searchforthetruth (10-1). Forest Echoes is making his third start of the meet after having been on the shelf since June. Improved last out and form cycle says he'll make another nice move forward today. Finished 4th last year in this race in which #5 Goin' Dancin (4-1) and #1 Twin Sparks (3-1) finished 1st and 3rd, respectively. Goin' Dancin looks ripe for a pull back today and Twin Sparks is still recovering from that explosive top achieved on 11/21 which certainly helps strengthen the case for Forest Echoes.
#3 Searchforthetruth (10-1) makes his second race off the layoff after running a useful prep last out in the slop. Comes back in eight days and appears to be ready to run a peak effort today. Can stay close but has a strong late kick which will serve him well at the 6.5 furlong distance.
#10 Highland Games (6-1) and #11 Johnny's Time (10-1) look very logical here though those tough post positions (11 and 13, respectively) aren't going to help.
Let's construct a "diamond" trifecta ticket and try to hook a great payoff.
