Our Turf Specialist Star Black is running Saturday at Pimlico 9th race #1 coming off the layoff First start back going 5 Furlongs but I hope the 2/4 set a fast pace and we are within striking distance to get up at good odds
5/27: Today starts out with a pair of 2yo Novice Stakes that may interest some. The first division features the favorite Tafaakhor who looked promising coming in 4th on his debut. Some interesting newcomers are The Big Short, Juanito Chico, Mokarris, and Final Reckoning. Unfortunately, Hyde Park is scratched due to the going. The second division features Majoris, the 2nd son of Frankel to debut on a racetrack this year. Majoris is trained by Hugo Palmer and will be ridden by William Buick. He'll have a lot to do to beat the favorite, Dream Of Dreams who looked green in his last race which he came 2nd in. John Gosden and James Doyle will be teaming up with Spiritous, who like Dream Of Dreams already has a 2nd place finish to his name. Our Boy was 3rd in that same race. Could be a competitive race. The going is good to soft.
Pletch is going to send Strad to the front in the belmont and instruct Johnny V to run measured fractions. That is the way Pletch has always felt was the best way to win the Belmont. It is the way he ran Dunkirk a few years back and he tried the same with Materiality last year but Materiality just was not the horse. His daddy, M D'or had a big race here in the Belmont and I would not count out Strad here.
Had his first listed win today in the Heron Stakes! :) I'd love to see him go for a G3 or G2 next to give him a stepping stone, but they're being bold with him and sending him straight back into G1 territory again. Best of luck, Zonderland!
I would imagine with Mike Repole as his owner he will make an appearance in the Belmont Stakes.

It was announced earlier this week by Coolmore's UK representative, Kevin Buckley, that The Gurkha, who was an impressive 8 length winner of the French 2000 Guineas at Deauville will not go to Epsom to run in the Derby but will instead be sent to Royal-Ascot to run in the St James's Palace Stakes. A decision that I feel certain was made in large part due to Air Force Blue's back to back clunkers in the English & Irish 2000 Guineas. Buckley went on to say that Coolmore's 4 probable starters for the Derby at Epsom will likely be US Army Ranger, Port Douglas, Idaho, & Deauville. There's no way of knowing how well The Gurkha would or wouldn't handle the step up in trip to 2400m for the Derby, but he's certainly proven he's lethal at a mile and I think will be the horse to beat in the St James's Palace Stakes. His performance at Deauville translated over to Newmarket or the Curragh would've put multiple lengths on Galileo Gold in the English Guineas or on Awtaad in the Irish Guineas either one, IMO.
What about Whitmore, Mor Spirit, hell Danzig Candy could try get loose on the lead if he could rate. We are gonna end up with an 8 horse field I am afraid.
Man that was a terribly disappointing Derby for Creator. Can anyone find a reason for his poor performance that make someone believe he will be a bounce back in the Belmont??
If Mohaymen was here, he'd win. But I like DESTIN for 1st then Creator, Exaggerator , and Stradivari .
Hope they can ban this lunatic. She is a disgrace.
Just for kicks, I'll bet an all gray superfecta: Lani, Creator, Destin, Cherry Wine.

Looks like she worked 5/8 In 1.00 and 4/5
What an incredible comeback we new he was special... Been waiting over 6 months to see him do that...
Tapit's had been running well in the Belmont Stakes over the past 2 years.
Current best odds in the UK for the Belmont: Exaggerator 11/8, Suddenbreakingnews 6/1, Cherry Wine 8/1, Stradivari 8/1, Destin 10/1, Lani 14/1, Mo Tom 14/1, Brody's Cause 16/1, Creator 20/1, Mor Spirit 25/1

DAMN!! Gift Box just looked amazing today!! Here is a horse to keep an eye on this year. Dwyer maybe next.
On his 2016 seasonal debut, and back up in trip to 10f where I think he's even more effective than he is racing at a mile, Time Test gets the better of Western Hymn to win the G3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes at Sandown Park. At present, Time Test is cross entered in both the G1 Prince of Wales's Stakes at 10f and G1 Queen Anne Stakes at a mile during next month's royal meeting at Ascot, but my personal hope is that trainer Roger Charlton goes for the Prince of Wales's Stakes over 10f. Time Test bolted up to easily win the G3 Tercentenary Stakes at last year's royal meeting over that same 10f trip.
As the first post dedicated to you, on this website, I want to congratulate you on an outstanding job of nurturing and blossoming Runhappy to the point where he now stands atop the racing world in the sprint division, winning the Breeders Cup Sprint. He won five straight races under your tutelage. Your pictures showed an incredible bond that shows that an animal can respond, and love a human. Though there are factors that will interrupt this relationship, I hope that there will be a reunion that will be in the not-so-distant future. In the meantime, I will be cheering for you to not only succeed, but also be able to provide many more stories that are similar to your first great story. Thank you for sharing your story. Looking forward to hearing good news for you, and about you.

She is such a beautiful person. She will be picked up in the future to be a trainer for good horses in the future.
