Wednesday's 7th race (3:26pm ET) from Tampa Bay Downs is a $6,250 claiming event for 3-year-olds and up traveling seven panels on the main track.

#5 Brothers Outlaw (6-1) found a mile and seventy yards a bit out of his range at Calder last time and the runner-up came back to score. New trainer Ward excels first off the claim and the tactical type finished 2-3 in all three starts at seven furlongs.

The Plays:

horse was so dominant it turned out that even the tri was not worth the bet
Difficult one to wager one as odds software down but 10, 9 , 7 , look to be the group to watch.....lets see which, if any get a bet
noting a horse is short ONCE means absolutely NOTHING. Usually that one is a pace victim..Horses can win at distances completely foreign to them if the pace is in their back pocket: Olden Times going wire to wire in the San Juan Capistrano and dozens of others. Seven furlong aptitudes are so narrow that Dr. William Quirin dedicated an entire chapter to them in one of his three great works, calling it the bastard distance. The lack of understanding around here is palpable!
