Saturday's 8th race (4:39pm ET) from Saratoga is the Grade 1 Personal Ensign for fillies and mares traveling a mile and a quarter on the main track.

#1 Acronym (6-1) exits a sharp local try in a minor Stakes affair at nine furlongs. The improving daughter of Empire Maker should enjoy added real estate and figures to save all of the ground stalking the pace under Lezcano.

#4 Protesting (6-1) won an Optional Claiming race here July 27 and Shug saddled the upset winner of this event last year. The Phipps runner should handle ten panels.

#3 Pachattack (9-2) is versatile, has some class, and can go this far but has never raced on conventional dirt. Dangerous if she handles the footing.

#2 Ask The Moon (2-1) freaked in the G1 Ruffian at 18-1. I'll make her prove that was no fluke as she tries another furlong at an unappetizing 2-1.

The Plays: $12 to win #1, $3 Exacta Box 1-3-4 ($18)

I like Pachattack and Super Espresso in the race. I think Pachattack would be a nice price if she stays around 9-2 or goes higher.
The Ruffian was Ask The Moon's first win in quite some time and I do not trust her to run two alike, especially at a longer distance. She could wire the field again but will not offer any value. Agree that anyone can win if the fav stubs her toe.
If Ask the Moon repeats last this race is a walkover. If not, it's wide open and all of your picks, plus Tiz Miz Sue, can win.
