Saturday's 9th race (5:14PM ET) from Saratoga is the G1 Test Stakes for 3-year-old fillies traveling seven furlongs on the main track.

#4 Bonnie Blue Flag (6-1) had her 3-race win streak snapped in the G1 Prioress last time, and the inside post and sharp six furlong distance proved her undoing that day. She won a $100,000 Stakes event at this distance on conventional dirt May 31 and has the tactical speed to keep the leaders in her sights. She should offer value for quality connections.

#3 Champagne d'Oro (8-1) finished a troubled 2nd and beat my top at Belmont last time. The early-pressing Grade 1 winner should enjoy seven panels.

#1 Pica Slew (7-2) exits three straight easy wins at Calder and Hushion is 30% with new additions to his barn. The inside post, added furlong, and new venue could prove challenging hurdles for the talented miss.

#9 Christine Daae (15-1) was not up to the likes of fleet male sprinter Discreetly Mine at Monmouth last time. She has shown flashes of brilliance and maybe blinkers will help her put it all together.

THE PLAYS: $16 to win #4, $6 Exacta Box 3-4 ($12), $3 Exacta 3-4/1-9 ($12) - analysis by Jarrod Horak

On re-evaluation the 7 may have enough late to overcome the speed here or at least be prominent enough late to be an exotic choice

One has to always be suspicious of "one race wonders" and Bonnie qualifies with a LIFETIME much the best at Lone Star?? On that lonely line from the filly (Bonnie Blue - reminds me of Rhett Butler's daughter in Gone With the Wind) she qualifies for a part underneath (if the track is playing as early as it has been). Her big move in Texas, ATYPICAL in ALL her other lines, will require another lifetime best 2nd and th rid fraction move against a blazing pace. EVERYONE here will have to catch the rail filly (Pica Slew) from Calder (should be clear by about 3 early) then much later by the 2 (Buckleupbuttercup)and a weak late move by 8 (Ash Zee) and of course the on race wonder.

Babies often wake up in these as well but SPEED is the dominant characteristic and we may have an easy ALONE on the Lead here.
