Friday's 9th race (5:30PM ET) from Saratoga is the G2 Bernard Baruch Handicap for 3-year-olds and up traveling nine furlongs on the inner turf.

#1 Baletti (5-1) has a history of running well fresh for sharp low profile trainer Angel Penna Jr. The 6yo gelding rallied to win a Graded event at Belmont in May. He reportedly came unraveled in the heat at Monmouth last time so I will forgive that below par effort. If the late-runner gets enough pace help he can be along in time at a hint of a price.

#5 Get Stormy (9-5) won the G2 Fourstardave here last time. The win type is fast and deadly up to a mile and a sixteenth. This is his first attempt at nine furlongs and he will take them as far as he can. He shows a strong local five furlong turf bullet (Aug 18 - best of 33) for this.

I hate TVG! They purposefully leave Monmouth park out of live racing. I watched the 9th at 7 minutes to post for the 10th! Cheese & rice! If you hate the meet, give it to HRTV! Don't punish those that love a great meet, with full fields and good purses! Dayam!

The favorite, luckily for us, has more early possibility than a late move, but will probably be around, but I would bet against it at those odds straight but would have to include it in an exotic. The BIG late mover here is the 4, Nonownow, and if that one can get through it will have a good shot. If 2 Whatsthescript can run back to its proven ability here, it will be very close at the wire. The rail horse Baletti has a single line which makes that one close here. Top to bottom this is a very close contest that will have to be differentiated at the odds board.
