Today's Racing Digest's Santa Anita Play of the Day

This is likely not an attractive betting race unless Orient Emperor is allowed to use his speed to his advantage.  That one was taken back when sent long for the first time Feb 24 and lacked a rally.  He deserves a puncher's chance to get the money.  While he's longshot material, the HF 15a lands on Bandeira Union, who is off turf and put up for sale for the first time while making comeback start #3.  He could be sitting on 'go'.  Major General was lapped on the winner as the even-money favorite Jan 29, a race taken off the turf.  He may be favored again, is in good form and is an obvious alternative. Tiger Blitz fits with this group, while Soverign Lord fits on numbers.    Analysis by Rick Lochner

CLOSERS: Fastest in the stretch in recent races at or near this distance have been: Tiger Blitz :24.6 - Oliver and Orient Emperor :24.7 - Warren's Tony R. :24.9
