Friday's 8th race (4:33pm PT) from Santa Anita Park is a $30,000 Maiden Claiming event for 3-year-old fillies traveling seven furlongs on the main track.
#4 Firendesire (8-1) exits the fastest race and earned the best last out number in a distant show finish that day. The winner of that Feb. 18 heat, Could Be Trouble, is a solid contender vs. Starter Allowance foes earlier in the card (race 6) and would make my top look that much better with a strong effort. I like the rider switch to Talamo and her running style versatility should serve her well in this spot. She flees the rail and should offer value in a wide open finale.
