Thursday's 3rd race (2:02pm PT) from Santa Anita Park is a $16,000 claiming event for 4-year-olds and up which have never won three races. They will be dashing six furlongs on the main track. 

#1 Muchos Besos (4-1) smartly captured a NW2L claiming sprint at BHP Dec 29 and was pitched a bit over his head off the claim in a local $25k affair at this trip Jan 5. He lands the advantageous 24% inside post, attracts Gomez, and drops into a realistic spot. He graduated at this course/distance and owns more tactical speed than he showed last time.

#2 Clinton (5-2) only seems to fire when Bejarano is riding. He is 2-for-11 lifetime and Bejarano is 2-for-2 with him. He likes to track the pace under this pilot and has never raced for a price this low.

Contenders before scratches: #2, 4, 1 & 5. The #5 just wired a field of lesser and looks peaked. The #1 is improving for a low percentage trainer. #4 is also improving and has a better pattern. My choice is the #2 Clinton (5/2)...Hot jock, hot trainer and loves the distance. Only problem is no value. Bet #2 to win. Exacta...2/all....Tri...2/1, 4, 5/all. Good luck!!!
