Saturday's 8th race (4:05pm PT) from Santa Anita Park is the Grade III Daytona Stakes for 3-year-olds and up traveling six and one-half furlongs on the downhill turf course.
#5 Circa'sgoldengear (8-1) gets tested for class and might be up to the task at square odds. The consistent 5yo gelding is deadly in turf sprints and Talamo rides the tactical type well.

#1 Great Mills (7-2) got a feel for the local green in a solid 4th place finish in the G1 BC Sprint. Bejarano got to know him last time and he might attempt a wire job from the rail.
#10 Wilkinson (6-1) has not been seen since upsetting the apple cart in the G2 American Handicap in May. He might want more ground and could need the outing but is firing bullets for this.
#7 Capital Account (5-1) tires turf for Bob Baffert and if nothing else this 6.5f trip should be to his liking. Toss out the BC Sprint and he is right there every time.
#6 Clubhouse Ride (12-1) packs a decent late kick and is reportedly training well for this. He rarely wins but can spice up the exotics.
